At RMS we encourage homeowners to show their personality through their home. 

Homebody. We immediately call ourselves a homebody if we like spending time at home or prefer to. But the actual definition of a homebody is a person who likes to stay at home, mostly perceived as adventurous. But in the interior decorating world, a homebody is a person who  loves staying home and decorating or an interior decor, enthusiast or someone who is house proud, enjoying creating a comfortable personalized and aesthetically pleasing environment through hobbies like styling designing and arranging their space.  They find fulfilment in nurturing their home, expressing their style and having control over their immediate surroundings Often invest investing time and money into furnishings and decor.

Hi. This is Maria of RMS Home Concepts. I fell in love with Home Staging when a friend asked me to help her with making a few furnished condo's and townhouses look presentable so they can find renters. I agreed to help, and was it an exciting venture! I only wished I had done a before and after. So when I got another chance to work on staging a home for sale, I did just that. 

What’s the difference between a Home Stager and an Interior Decorator?
Home Stagers prepare a home that will be up for sale. We depersonalize the spaces in the home to help potential buyers visualize themselves in the house. Stagers focus on the marketing of the home. 
Interior Designers/decorators personalize  the space for the home owner’s long term enjoyment- focusing on the homeowner’s style, needs and lifestyle. 

Home Stagers and Interior Designers have different ideals for the home they are working on. But as a Home Stager, I focus on the marketing aspect but help the homeowners still enjoy their space before the home sells. There were instances where the sellers were thinking of bringing exactly how I staged their home to the new home they are moving to.  That’s such a great feeling when your clients love your work. I will be sharing some Home Decor tips in my next post.

 I find myself saying "My house is a few blocks down the street." whenever I meet somebody who lives in my neighbourhood.
